B and B Caterers is owned and operated by Kevin Bennington.
Kevin was born in London, England and attended Brighton Polytechnic College. He gained England’s Higher National Diploma in Hotel Catering Administration and was a member of the Hotel and Catering Institute of Managers. He trained in London at the Grovenor House Hotel and in Brighton in the Old Ship Hotel. He moved to Canada in 1976 and managed various restaurants in Toronto including the Old Fish Market and Ginsberg and Wong. He opened Bennington’s Fine Dining in Thornbury in 1984 and sold the business in 1989. In 1996 Kevin started at The Georgian Peaks Club as the Food & Beverage and Lodge manager. Kevin and his wife, Catherine, own and operate the Beaver and Bulldog Sports Pub and Wingery in Collingwood -a great place to visit. In the summer seasons, Kevin served as the General Manager at the Ojibway Club at Pointe au Baril for the past 9 years.
Alongside Kevin, Chef Scott Gerrie who is known for his extraordinary talent in preparation of appetizing food cuisine, helps run and organize the catering events for B and B Caterers. Chef Gerrie completed his apprenticeship at the Toronto Prince Hotel in the 1970’s under Chef Hans Ulrich Herzig. He then moved to Switzerland where he was employed in Zurich and Kloster. Throughout his years, Chef Gerrie has worked as Executive Chef at the Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, several restaurants, and continued training and working in Europe and Canada. His many visits, throughout the year to Savannah, Chicago, New York and Florida allow him the leisure time and research ability to investigate new trends in food styling and presentation. Chef Gerrie was the mastermind behind the creative flair and culinary team management of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and Tennis Canada, bell open from 1996 to 2007. For the last 6 summers, Scott was working at the Ojibway club in Pointe au Baril with Kevin which allowed the two to strengthen their friendship and ability to work together.
